Vastu Men's

In addition to traditional residence halls, MIU offers a distinctive housing option designed according to the principles of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, an ancient system of architecture aligned with Natural Law to enhance well-being, mental clarity, and positivity. Known as Vastu housing, this residence provides a more intentional living environment. This unit accommodates eight students and includes a shared living room, kitchen, and laundry area, while offering the comfort and privacy of individual bathrooms for each resident.

Vastu rooms require an additional fee of $900 per semester and are highly sought after. We encourage interested students to apply early, as availability is limited.

The Men’s Vastu building at 1093 Dome Place in Fairfield, IA, is centrally located within the Maharishi International University (MIU) campus. From this residence, several key campus facilities are within walking distance:

Argiro Student Center and Most Classrooms: Approximately a 10-minute walk to the west, the Argiro Student Center serves as the campus hub, housing dining facilities, classrooms, and student lounges.

Men’s Golden Dome Meditation Hall: Located about a 5-minute walk to the east, this iconic dome offers a serene environment for meditation and group practices.

MIU Outdoor Pool: Situated roughly a 10-minute walk to the southeast, the cowhig Family Aquatic Center features a 25-meter lap pool, diving board, and a newly renovated deck area.

Community Gardens: Approximately a 15-minute walk to the northeast, these gardens provide students with opportunities to engage in sustainable gardening practices.

MIU Recreation Center: Located about a 10-minute walk to the south, the Grace Ananda Recreation Center is a 60,000-square-foot facility offering indoor tennis courts, a rock-climbing wall, and various fitness classes.
