Vastu Ladies'
In addition to traditional residence halls, MIU offers a distinctive housing option designed according to the principles of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, an ancient system of architecture aligned with Natural Law to enhance well-being, mental clarity, and positivity. Known as Vastu housing, this residence provides a more intentional living environment. This unit accommodates eight students and includes a shared living room, kitchen, and laundry area, while offering the comfort and privacy of individual bathrooms for each resident.
Vastu rooms require an additional fee per semester and are highly sought after. We encourage interested students to apply early, as availability is limited.
Location: The R12A(149) building, located at 1115 Granville Avenue, Fairfield, IA 52556, is centrally situated within the Maharishi International University (MIU) campus. From this residence, several key campus facilities are within walking distance:
- Women’s Golden Dome Meditation Hall: just a 1-minute walk, as it is directly across the street.
- MIU outdoor pool: about a 3-minute walk, crossing the street and heading south.
- Community gardens: approximately a 10-minute walk to the northeast.
- MIU Recreation Center: around a 10-minute walk to the south.
- Argiro Student Center and most classrooms: roughly a 15-minute walk to the west.
