Help Manage A/V For Events

Would you like to learn how to manage the A/V in one of the campus venues?

We are VERY interested in actively seeking out people who are interested in helping engineer the A/V for events!

A/V engineering for events is fun and very rewarding. If you would like to help, please do not hesitate to contact the A/V dept manager at audiovisual@miu.edu or telephone 641-472-7000 x2288 so we can discuss your desires, and to make a training appointment.

Experience shows that there are two main points to smooth and enjoyable A/V engineering:

• Plan the event very thoroughly, allowing for some spontaneity, with the event organizer many days before the event. The earlier and the more thorough, the better.
• Be sure to come well before the event start time (even an hour) to allow plenty of time to set up and test all the features you will need (or even possibly need). Once that is done, you will have confidence in the a/v and then you can really enjoy engineering the a/v.
