MIU is dedicated to the creation of an ideal community for personal development and does not tolerate harassment in any form, including sexual harassment. Complaints or incidents should be reported immediately. The individuals listed below will talk to you in confidence and take any necessary steps to remedy the situation.
Complaints or incidents should be reported immediately to the Dean of Student Life or any other member of the Department of Student Life, Dean of Faculty or HR Director, or Title IX Coordinator.
Educational programs on sex offenses, rape, and acquaintance rape can be obtained through Crisis Center & Women’s Health at 641-682-1200, 1014 N Elm Street Ottumwa, Iowa 52501 or email at help@ottumwacrisiscenter.org.
Such events may be reported to the Jefferson County Police Department at 1200 West Grimes Avenue and/or Campus Security, 641-472-1115.
The Chairperson of the Department of Student Life will assist you in notifying these authorities if you wish. Appointments for counseling services for victims of such offenses contact may be made with the Henry County Community Mental Health Services at 2201 West Jefferson Avenue in Fairfield, 641-472-5771.
